DIET BY BLOOD TYPES

Diet by blood type was developed by an American doctor of naturopathy, Peter D’Adamo. According to him, the determining factor in the choice of food is the person’s blood type.

Based on his own research, D’Adamo concluded that each type responds differently to certain foods and a choice of menu based on blood type can improve digestion, leading to significant weight loss.

DIET BY BLOOD TYPES

PROS

Observations have shown that strict adherence to this weight loss diet often led to termination of food allergies. However, after discontinuation of D’Adamo’s recommendations, the allergies reappear.

Nutritionists also say that compliance with this diet has a very positive effect over the development of the fetus during pregnancy, especially in cases of illness or threat of miscarriage. However, all specialists strongly advise to consult a doctor before you get on this slimming diet.

CONS

Diet by blood type is not suitable for people with metabolic disorders (which, by the way, is present in every second person prone to overweight). D’Adamo’s advice is addressed only to healthy people, who want to lose 3-5 kilograms. The effect of the diet is incapable of providing further weight loss.

Therefore, you can not and will not find any scientific evidence that the diet by blood types will help you obtain unprecedented slenderness.

AYURVEDIC DIET

The title by itself is already music to our ears! Ayurvedic nutrition is an ideological doctrine, which prolongs youth and perfections beauty, both external and internal. Formed from the words “ayur” – life and “veda” – knowledge or science, this philosophy proposes to embark on a long and bumpy “path to yourself”, which will certainly lead to happiness and prosperity.

In addition to gaining a slim figure, Ayurveda teaches us to find the causes of our ailments on our own and address any health issues without any drugs. Of course, all this requires a long, phased formation of the necessary way of thinking and way of life.

AYURVEDIC DIET

PROS

Psychologically, Ayurveda nutrition system is designed for each and every person. When choosing the menu, the main emphasis being directed to individual characteristics, and not only physiological:

  • character,
  • lifestyle,
  • interests,
  • occupation.

Another undoubted advantage is the absence of side effects and a guaranteed achievement of the goals set – weight loss and health improvement. It is very important that Ayurveda helps to accept and feel through the most important dietary habits:

  • mindful eating,
  • taking delight in the food flavor.

CONS

Unfortunately, Ayurvedic nutrition is not suitable for:

  • people with any chronic illness,
  • small children,
  • pregnant women.

Due to the abundance of spices, animal protein restriction and a certain eating schedule.

Moreover, it does not fit the category of people who want to lose weight without much effort. After all, following the Ayurvedic  teaching is a huge, non-stop work over the harmonious filling of your inner world. If you begin it, your should not stop throughout your entire life.

ATKINS DIET

This American cardiologist was a little over thirty, when he decided to lose almost the same amount of extra kilos. The result of the efforts made was a weight loss from 116 kg to 88 kg, within a record-setting short time. To do this, however, Robert Atkins had to completely abandon the carbohydrates.

Of course, he did not develop his weight loss method without rhyme or reason. He was armed with the results of major studies, published by Gordon Azar and Walter Lyons Bloom in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Soon after his transformation, slim Atkins became the favorite nutritionist of Hollywood celebrities, like Jennifer Aniston and Catherine Zeta-Jones. At the same time, despite the continued popularity of the Atkins diet, many of his colleagues agree that the ketogenic protein diet that he developed can not be considered 100% safe for the human body.

ATKINS DIET

PROS

The Atkins diet does really help to lose weight within a short time without going hungry, because you can freely consume:

  • proteins,
  • fats.

The body saturates with meat very quickly and provides energy for a long time. In addition, the use of protein diet helps to maintain muscle mass, which, of course, is another significant advantage.

However, it should be borne in mind that the first and second phase of the diet can be allowed for no more than 10 days. Then, the menu should be expanded, and necessarily through the introduction of carbohydrates with a low glycemic index. You should not deprive yourself from the carbohydrates for a long time. Otherwise, it leads to the negative consequences described below.

CONS

Long-term observance of this diet can lead to severe pathology of the gastrointestinal tract with impaired peristalsis. In some people, who were dieting in Atkins style, the metabolism diseases were recorded (e.g. purine metabolism), which ended with a severe form of gout.

This weight loss diet can be especially dangerous for:

  • schoolchildren,
  • brainworkers.

These categories need carbohydrates in sufficient amounts. When they are reduced to a minimum, this category of slimmers manifests a significant decrease in memory and performance, and mood worsening.

In general, all this is happens because an exaggeration in fats and proteins with a lack of carbohydrates is unnatural for the human body. We can draw an analogy with a car that runs on gasoline, which was suddenly fueled with diesel fuel. The car will ride for a while, but what happens next?

DUKAN DIET

The famous guru of nutrition, Pierre Dukan, today become a symbol of France, along with Robespierre, Mireille Mathieu and Jean-Michel Jarre. Dukan, just like his great compatriots, seeks the beautiful, albeit in a somewhat revolutionary way.

More than 15 million people around the world gained the body of their dreams thanks to him, through a complete renunciation of all fats, including vegetable oil.

DUKAN DIET

PROS

The Dukan diet is really very effective. It helps 7 to 10 people to lose weight. “Bonus” benefits are:

  • absence of fasting,
  • wide selection of protein products.

Satiated slenderness is real, which is confirmed by multiple examples. Each of us has a friend or acquaintance, who managed to lose weight fast “in Dukan style”. The method does work, but it does have several disadvantages, as well.

CONS

Many studies of scientists around the world brought to the conclusion that the protein products of animal origin are highly carcinogenic, and their increased content in the menu leads to cancer. This is in the worst case. In the “best” – long-term consumption of animal protein leads to:

  • decrease in vision in adulthood,
  • increased likelihood of Alzheimer’s disease.

Therefore, it is important not to overdo it and not to turn a protein diet into a lifelong dietary habit. It can not be fully attributed to the category of “healthy” diets. Remember that any diet should be used for health, and not against it.
